All SIUE Alumni Association members are invited to attend the annual meeting.

The agenda includes:
- Presentation of 2014-2015 scholarships
- Welcoming of new board members and officers
- Approval of the FY15 budget

SIUE School of Nursing Students Offer Triage Services to Needy

Seven SIUE School of Nursing students offered triage services to those in need during a Remote Area Medical (RAM) community health clinic held May 2-4 at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center in East St. Louis.

"It is important that we prepare our nursing students to care for patients from underserved populations as more and more American citizens are gaining access to health care under the Affordable Care Act," said Caitlin Phelan, instructor of nursing. "This RAM event is an annual opportunity for SIUE students and faculty to serve their neighboring community."

Mark your calendars now to join us for our Summer Happy Hour Series. Alumni and friends are invited to join the SIUE Alumni Association for drinks and summer fun after a day in the office!

Nursing's Peter Gillen was Commencement's Student Speaker

Peter Gillen, who earned a bachelor's in nursing, was the student speaker for SIUE's Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 9.

"In these few short years, we have never stopped learning, and we never will stop learning," said Gillen. "There is always something more you can learn whether it be from a fellow nurse, physician, patient or maybe even a nursing student.

Homecoming 2014

Show your Cougar pride during the SIUE Men's Soccer tailgate and game on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The SIUE Alumni Association will host a hospitality tent for our returning alumni and friends during the tailgate and game.

St. Louis PrideFest 2014: You're Invited

SIUE Safe Zone invites SIUE alumni and families to volunteer at the Safe Zone booth and walk with Safe Zone in the parade during PrideFest 2014.

Great Teacher Award

Applications for the 2014 Great Teacher Award are now being accepted. The Great Teacher Award was established in 1970 by the SIUE Alumni Association. Each year, an SIUE faculty member is recognized for their continuous excellence in teaching. Each recipient receives a $1,000 award and a commemorative plaque. In addition, each recipient's name is engraved on the Great Teacher Award plaque displayed at Birger Hall. The award is presented during the December commencement. What are your kids doing this summer?

SIUE offers a variety of summer camps full of learning and fun for kids. Campers can choose from academic camps in science, Spanish, theater and dance, writing, or sports camps in men's and women's soccer, softball, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, and strength and conditioning.
